The view from the boat.
They docked in Juneau, Alaska the wee hours of the 7th of February. They have now moved into their new digs, a two bedroom apartment in the industrial district of the city. This first week in the field has been filled with dirt, sweat, laughter, and the joy of making new friends. They have also seen eagles in the trees and snow fall from the sky at 37 degrees.
Elder and Sister Schindler get to get up every morning for early morning seminary again. They have been greeting the kids every morning with a trivia question while Elder Schindler is cheating by holding up the answers. Today the kids got the awesome experience of playing scripture chase basketball. Elder and Sister Schindler also are getting to teach the teachers. They both are enjoying being with the youth of the church but they are not used to the 6am yet.
Elder and Sister Schindler are also working with the young adults of this area. They informed me that they are amazing and have a wonderful program and look forward to spending more time with them.
On Thursday they got to meet the Mission President and his wife. They say they are a wonderful couple.
They found a little B & B that the Temple President owns and had a great meal and met the chef.
They have lived through their first week in the field!
